Nespresso Maestria : How to descale Maestria machine

Nespresso Maestria is one of the premium model in the Nespresso.

In order to obtain a perfect cup of coffee, Nespresso recommended that descale machine at least once a year.

For descaling, you need to prepare the descaling kit from Nespresso club.

 

If your machine's middle light(steam indicator) is constant orange, it is time to do descaling.

How to descale your Maestira Machine?

 

Step1. Prepare your machine

1. Switch off the machine
2. Turn the espresso button to position 4(left side dial) and the lungo button to position 1(right side dial)
3. Open and close the lever to remove any capsules
4. Empty both drip tray and the capsule container

Step2. Descale (duration about 10 min)

1. Turn on the machine whilst pressing the espresso button
2. Fill the water tank with two sachets of Nespresso descaling solution and freshwater
3. Put a 750ml container under the coffee outlet and another 750ml container under the steam nozzle
4. Set the lever on steam
5. Press the lungo button to start the descaling cycle of your machine (the mix of the water and descaling solution will flow alternately through the steam nozzle and the coffee outlet)
6. Once the middle light has stopped flashing, the descaling is finished!

- Do not touch the machine during this procedure!!

 

Step3. Rinse (duration about 5 min)

1.  Empty and rinse the water tank and capsule recycling tray and the drip tray
2. Fill the tank with freshwater
3. Again, place an empty container under the coffee outlet and the steam nozzle
4. Rinse by turning the lungo button(right side) on to position 2 and then push the button
5. The water flows through alternately by the steam nozzle and the coffee outlet
6. The light indicates when the rinsing cycle is finished

Step4. Exit the descaling mode

1. Turn the steam lever to off
2. To off empty, rinse and replace the capsule container and the drip tray
3. Done!! Turn off and on the power switch and then check the middle button's colour. 

When descaling finished successfully, middle light colour change like this picture :D
