전도서 11장(쉬운성경) - Ecclesiastes 11(NIV)

<슬기롭게 인생에 대처하여라- Invest in Many Ventures>

11:1  씨앗을 물 위에 던져라. 수일 후면 수백 배로 거두게 될 것이다.

       Ship your grain across the sea; after many days you may receive a return.

11:2  재산을 일곱 군데, 아니 여덟 군데에 투자하여라. 이 세상에 어떤 불운이 닥칠지 모르지 않는가?

       Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.

11:3  구름에 물이 가득 차면, 조만간 땅 위로 쏟아진다.

       If clouds are full of water, they pour rain on the earth.

       나무가 남쪽으로든 북쪽으로든 쓰러지면, 그것이 쓰러진 자리에 그냥 놓일 것이다.

       Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where it falls, there it will lie.

11:4  바람만 살피는 자는 씨 뿌리지 못하고, 구름만 살피는 자는 추수하지 못한다.

      Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.

11:5  네가 바람이 다니는 길을 알지 못하고, 태아의 뼈가 어머니 뱃속에서어떻게 형성되는지 알지 못하는 것처럼

       As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed^[각주:1] in a mother's womb,

       모든 것을 행하시는 하나님의 일을 어찌 알 수 있겠는가?

        so you cannot understand the work of God, the Make of all things.

11:6  아침에 씨를 뿌리고, 저녁에 네 손을 태만히 놀리지 마라.

       Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle,

       이것이 잘 될지, 저것이 잘될지 혹은 둘 다 잘될지 누가 알겠는가?

       for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.

 

<젊었을 때에 하나님을 잘 섬겨라-Remember Your Creator While Young>

11:7  환한 세상이 좋으니, 태양을 바라보는 눈이 얼마나 행복한가?

       Light is sweet, and it pleases the eyes to see the sun.

11:8  사람이 오래 살 때, 매일의 삶을 즐겨라. 그렇지만 어두운 날들도 기억하여라.

       However many years anyone may live, let them remember the days of darkness,

       이는 그런 날들도 많을 것이기 때문이다. 장래 일은 허무하다.

       for there will be many. Everything to come is meaningless.

11:9  청년이여, 네 젊은 시절을 즐거워하여라. 네 젊을 날에 마음을 기쁘게 하여라.

       You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.

       네 마음이 원하는 것과 네 눈이 보는 것을 따라 즐겨라.

       Follow the ways of your heart and whatever you eyes see, 

       그렇지만 이 모든 일들에 하나님의 심판이 있다는 것도 기억하여라.

       but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

11:10 그러므로 네 마음에서 불안을 없애고, 나쁜일을 없애라. 너의 젊은 때는 빨리 지나가 버린다. 

       So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body, for youth and vigor are meaningless.
